Al Bara
Al Bara is the largest village of the Limestone massif. In the 4th century, the village was established in a peaceful valley next to a river. There were rich houses scattered among the fields, mainly of olive trees and vineyards. The religious buildings are particularly important: there is a 6th century monastery at the entrance to the village and 6 churches among the houses. On top of the hill, the beautiful Muslim citadel gives a good overview of the site. The most impressive monument is certainly the weird building covered by a pyramid-shaped roof that is on the main road. Inside the building visitors can still see 5 sarcophaguses.
