The project "Marketing Activities for the Promotion of Syrian Cultural Heritage" is executed for the Ministry of Culture of the Syrian Arab Republic and financed by the European Commission. The experts who have taken part to the project are: Giovanni Anceschi (Università IUAV di Venezia), Maria Luigia Calia (IMED), Catherine Cornet (Babelmed), Nathalie Galesne (Babelmed), Franca Garzotto (Politecnico di Milano), Paolo Paolini (Politecnico di Milano), Mirko Tattarini (Lagos Design and Media). The Consortium implementing the project is composed of: Mediterranean Institute (IMED) - established in 1987, is a non-profit institution, which acts in the Euro-Mediterranean area in three strategic fields: economic and social development, citizenship and culture. Its main objectives are to contribute to the design and implementation of a policy of Euro-Mediterranean co-development, to contribute to the establishment of a centre of Mediterranean development within the strategic Euro-Mediterranean area, to contribute to the strengthening of civil society in the Mediterranean area, in a pluralistic and democratic way, to contribute to a Euro-Mediterranean citizenship, to contribute to the forging of Mediterranean identity and culture. Politecnico di Milano, Electronic and Information Department - HOC (Hypermedia Open Centre) Laboratory of the Electronic and Information Department of the Politecnico di Milano, was founded in 1996. Its applications' domains span from electronic commerce to cultural heritage, from e-learning to advanced educational 3D environments. The laboratory is "open" in that it gathers a multidisciplinary team of research, not strictly coming from the academic world. Associazione Babelmed - Babelmed's association is a non profit organisation and was created in Rome in April 2001. Its main objective is to promote cultural exchanges in the Mediterranean region and to circulate information and ideas present around this common sea. In 2002, the association launched its website, www.Babelmed.net. Syriacomm - privately owned company established in 1994 in Damascus. Its core business is evolved around technology projects and services through strategic alliances and partnerships with internationally recognized providers of products and services. It offers a unique combination of regional know how and international standards providing customers with quality service at a competitive prices with full understanding of local requirements.
