The basilica of Saint Simeon
In the first centuries after Christ, Syria was a very fertile terrain for monotheist religions. They did not become Christian overnight and Antioch is a good example of this slow evolution: it was an area of equilibrium, but also of troubles, hesitations and ideological disputes between all these groups.
